The Speaker of the Assembly, Lindita Nikolla commented on the action of the socialist MP Bujar Çela, who wished November 28 with a photo of dictator Enver Hoxha.
In her speech, Nikolla said that she does not believe that there is anyone who can revoke the figure of Hoxha, as it is known that he was a dictator. She stressed that his action is unacceptable and indicated that there is a request for him in the Ethics Commission.
“As for what you mentioned, the regime of Enver Hoxha has been a regime that we have forcibly removed and I believe that there is no one who wants to revoke the figure of Enver Hoxha. He was a dictator. There is a request in this case to be seen by the Ethics Commission and in the first case, it will be considered regardless of how it happened. “It is unacceptable for a member of the Assembly to use such situations on a holiday such as Independence Day.” said Nikolla.
The Speaker also spoke about the non-compliance of the pandemic measures by the deputies in the plenary sessions.
“The deputy does not respect wearing the mask. I have drawn frowns. We will once again use authority through services to enable the presence of masks at the entrance to plenary sessions. Willingness is also required“, She said.
We recall that the provocation of the socialist MP Bujar Çela with the photo of the dictator, prompted the Democratic Party to take out of the drawers its legal initiative for the decommunization of society. The Democrats’ proposal banning the symbols of communism also touches on the art of socialist realization.
Democrats demand the cooperation of the Socialists to jointly approve in the Assembly a complete legal package that once and for all separates Albania from the communist past.
