Public confidence in justice reform is zero. Manjani talks about the causes

After 5 hours of numerous debates and discussions in today’s plenary session, the deputies of the Albanian Parliament have started voting for the extension of the vetting deadlines, while the majority is expected to unite the votes to give the proper deadline for the continuation of the vetting!

While the Assembly was discussing the extension of the vetting deadlines, there were debates between the DP and the SP that started exactly for the extension of the deadlines of this re-evaluation process for judges and prosecutors and ended in mutual personal accusations between them.

The former Minister of Justice spoke about two standards in the elimination of prosecutors and judges as a result of vetting, one party passed it while the other did not for the same reasons!

Manjani further says that public confidence in Justice Reform is extremely low!

“There are judges or prosecutors who have passed the vetting but do not convince, just as for the same reasons that they have passed the other vetting have remained. This is by two standards! I do not understand why Besa left Nik Hasani, they wrote that we had a bad attitude when we clarified the decision. We have conquered you after death! These were broken by vetting while some others were left for the same reasons. Here that is incredible.

This parliament should use this case and continue to provide some answers to these questions related to vetting. What happened that Albanians do not believe in reform? Someone has to do it! How can a 5 year Reform be called and it does not end, there are no such reforms! “This was a very good opportunity for the opposition to use this tribune today to encourage the party that rules alone to come to a dialogue,” said Manjani.
