During this process, dozens of plaintiffs and Mujahideen witnesses in Albania, with a wealth of evidence that left no doubt that Hamid Nouri was directly involved in the 1988 massacre of political prisoners, proved that this was a great crime against humanity.
Based on all the documents presented in court, the prosecutor of the court demanded the harshest sentence, ie life imprisonment, for Hamid Nourin, who was involved in genocide.
Lewis explained how widespread support for the Mujahideen that spread to Iran at the beginning of Khomeini’s regime in 1979 caused Khomeini’s anger and concern about his dictatorship.
Kenneth Lewis then spoke about the executions and abuses committed by the clerical regime in the 1980s, showing images published in newspapers by the regime of photos of several teenagers arrested during protests and executed without trial.
Kenneth Lewis said: “The mass executions of political prisoners in 1988 were carried out simultaneously in all prisons in Iran.
According to Mujahideen estimates, the number of those executed was about 30,000, of whom 90% were members of the MEK. These statistics have been confirmed by other sources.
Kenneth Lewis added that the indictment against Hamid Nouri is, in fact, an indictment of the entire Iranian regime.
Simultaneously with the trial, representatives of the MEK, relatives of the victims and supporters of the Mujahideen organized large demonstrations in front of the court, demanding the prosecution and punishment of the leaders of the Mullah regime, especially Khamenei and Rais, for their involvement in the genocide.
The regime’s perception is that they have gone so far that the Swedish Foreign Ministry has announced that Swedish citizens should not travel to Iran.
