Former Zimbabwean footballer Charles Yohane has been killed at the age of 48 as his car was robbed.
Defender Yohane was part of the Warriors team in their debut in the 2004 African Cup of Nations.
After retiring, Yohane had worked in Johannesburg as a football coach and taxi driver. His body was found in Soweto on Monday, though it is believed he died Saturday night.
“He was abducted, taken away and shot in the head,” his brother Lewis told BBC Sport.
Yohane transferred from Zimbabwe to South Africa in 1996 and played for the Wits first division team, becoming captain and achieving a record 268 appearances from 1997 to 2006.
