The government will turn to international markets to buy fuel to avoid interruptions in domestic supply.
The scenario was announced today at the meeting of the Energy Committee based on the growing concerns in global markets as a result of the war where oil has become too expensive on the stock exchanges, but also in the domestic market.
In addition to concerns about oil reserves, the country is also facing an energy crisis due to a lack of rainfall. Despite the problematic situation, the Minister of Energy Belinda Balluku assured the citizens that there will be no increase in bills or power outages.
In the face of rising costs for the purchase of imported energy, Balluku has appealed for the payment of bills, emphasizing especially the water companies, as the largest debtors to the Electricity Distribution Operator.
