Five national and international wanted persons have been handcuffed in the last 24 hours in our country.
Work continues to apprehend internationally and nationally wanted persons. During the last 24 hours, 5 national and international wanted persons have been handcuffed. Thanks to the cooperation between Interpol Tirana and their counterparts, it became possible to apprehend two citizens declared internationally wanted and extradite them to Albania. Also, by the structures of the State Police, in the framework of the operation plan for the apprehension of wanted persons, the arrest and detention of 3 citizens declared nationally wanted took place.
From the National Central Office Interpol Tirana was made the extradition from Hungary to our country, of the internationally wanted citizen B. Ll., 36 years old. This citizen was declared wanted, after the Court of the Gjirokastra Judicial District, on 25.01.2021, imposed the security measure “Arrest in prison”, for the criminal offenses “Threat” and “Illegal possession of weapons.” The arrest of this citizen was made possible in cooperation with the National Central Office Interpol Tirana, based on information about his whereabouts in the state of Hungary.
Also from the National Central Office Interpol Tirana was extradited from Italy to our country, the Italian citizen EF, 56 years old. The Court of the Tirana Judicial District, with the decision of 14.02.2019, has assigned to this citizen, the security measure “Prison arrest”, for the criminal offense “Trafficking in motor vehicles”. The person extradited to the Rinas BCP was handed over to the General Directorate of Prisons.
Following the work to apprehend the wanted persons and bring them to justice, the Specialists for Narcotics Investigation in DVP Gjirokastra arrested and detained the citizen Gani Abazi, 61 years old, resident in Tepelena, declared wanted for the criminal offense “Cultivation of narcotic plants, committed in the form of a structured criminal group.” The Court of Appeals for Serious Crimes in Tirana has sentenced this citizen to 8 years in prison.
Also, the services of the Gjirokastra Police Commissariat, following the work to apprehend wanted persons and bring them to criminal responsibility, based on the information received through the police that in the neighborhood “18 September”, Gjirokastra, there was a person declared wanted, organized the work and made possible the arrest of the citizen VG, 38 years old, resident in Gjirokastra. This citizen was declared wanted by the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, for the criminal offense “Theft” committed in collaboration, based on the detention order issued by the Prosecution at the Court of First Instance Tirana. Citizen VG was handed over to the Local Police Directorate of Tirana, for further actions.
Meanwhile, from the specialists for the Investigation of Crimes in the Police Commissariat no. 6 was arrested and detained the citizen AK, 30 years old, after he was declared wanted within the police operation codenamed “Autostrada”, for the criminal offense “Theft” committed in collaboration. This citizen is suspected of being part of a structured criminal group that committed thefts of safes in businesses and villas on the Tirana-Durrës highway. As part of the operation carried out on December 12, 3 citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto and 3 others were declared wanted.
