Prime Minister Edi Rama held a press conference on the situation in Ukraine.
Edi Rama: During the last hours that you have not only seen but also broadcast. As you know, we are part of the United Nations Security Council but also co-host with the US, which has made our position known to the world from the first minutes after the start of the attack. We are following these developments closely, keeping in mind the people of Ukraine and the Ukrainian leadership that is directly threatened. I do not know if you followed President Zelenski, now in military uniform and on the battlefield, or former President Lukashenko, who was also armed in one of Kiev’s neighborhoods with a group of people.
It is a tragic situation, but on the other hand it is a development which has challenged the whole security architecture in Europe, the whole institutional edifice by hitting its foundation, international law and international law. It seemed appropriate to hold this extraordinary conference to talk a little more about the implications of this war on Albania, which many of the various NATO countries do not have significant economic or trade dependence on Russia, but however it is not entirely unrelated, either to Russia or to Ukraine that we wish and hope it returns to normalcy but it is far from normal today.
