“Mother Teresa” neighborhood still in fear of fire. Fighting the flames to protect homes and businesses has been going on since the morning hours.
The fire that started yesterday at the exit of Lezha continues to be critical. It was reactivated today around 10:00 a.m. and in a short time it spread widely, creating panic among residents and businesses located in the area.
The battle is concentrated in front of the Frutores neighborhood, an area where the flames have come very close to the houses. One of the apartments was in serious danger, but it was the army fire brigade that was nearby that intervened in time and prevented the fire from burning the apartment.
The situation continues to be critical due to the fire fighters not being able to go deeper as well and the wind is helping to spread the flames. The army has also been deployed in the area with troops, but the fire still needs time to be fully brought under control, also firefighters from Shkodra, Tirana and Kamza have come to help. The police force is also available for smooth traffic and to come to the aid of residents at any time.
