During today’s meeting in Vienna, the UEFA Executive Committee approved the UEFA EURO 2024 calendar, which will take place in ten German cities from June 14 to July 14, 2024.
The opening match will be played at the “Fussball Arena” in Munich, while the grand final will be played at the “Olympiastadion” in Berlin. For the first time, consistency is included as a criterion in tournament rules.
As a result, the cities were divided into three groups: “North / Northeast” (Berlin, Hamburg, Leipzig), “West” (Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Cologne) and “South” (Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart).
Matches of each group will be played in only two city groupings, to reduce travel distances for teams and fans. The committee also approved the full rules of the tournament, which will be published on UEFA.com on May 16.
DECISIONS MADE
- The 2023 Conference League final will be played at the Eden Arena in Prague on June 7, 2023.
