A ballerina has joined the Ukrainian armed forces in Kiev following the Russian invasion of the country.
Lesia Vorotnyuk previously worked at Kyiv’s National Opera House before she began helping civilians evacuate the Ukrainian capital as Russian invaders approached the region, according to Sky News.
Ms Vorotnyuk, whose husband died in the war in eastern Ukraine three years ago, later joined the territorial defense unit in Kiev.
