The Mexican ‘Enchilads’ have apparently always been the safe route to the heart of the Mexican cartel mafia El Chapo.
Joaquín Guzmán Loera, the former head of the infamous Sinaloa cartel, had previously fallen in love with the prison chef when he was first imprisoned in 1993 after she prepared “enchiladas suizas” exactly as his mother had done to him, in the style of ‘Sinaloan ‘, dipped in tomato sauce and milk, and coated with melted cheese.
Already in a new book it is written that 64-year-old El Chapo, had fallen head over heels in love with what would become his wife, 32-year-old long-legged Emma Coronel Aispuro, when she prepared ‘enchilada’ with her recipe, shortly after they met in Durango.
El Chapo met Coronel Aispuro in 2006 when she was a folk music dancer in her hometown of La Angostura.
The woman says she had no idea how horrible the head of the Sinaloa cartel was or that he was wanted by justice.
“He never gave me expensive gifts or big things,” Aispuro tells Mexican journalist Anabel Hernandez, who wrote the book.Emma and other narco-women ”, which is published this month.
“He won people’s hearts with his way… He did not do impressive things but acted like any normal person.”
Although she was still a minor in a traditional rural family at the time, her parents allowed her to date El Chapo, who took her to traditional dance venues. “We danced and talked,” she tells Hernandez. And one day, she was preparing his favorite meal when El Chapo knew he had discovered the wife of his dreams.
“Perhaps El Chapo was looking for a ‘mother’ in all the women he associated with,” Hernandez wrote.
El Chapo was born into a poor family in La Tuna, a remote region of Sinaloa.
He was the eldest of six children and when he was in third grade he had to earn so for his family.
Dad had taken her to the small family marijuana plantation when she was 7 and he started helping her with the planting.
While his mother, the housekeeper, cooked for the family.
During the El Chapo trial in Brooklyn, USA, it was learned that his wife, Coronel Aispuro, had helped him escape from a high-security prison in Mexico and send messages to the Sinaloa cartel.
She was recently sentenced to three years in prison for her role in the traffic cartel.
El Chapo’s 93-year-old mother has escaped accusations and now hopes to take his favorite food to jail.
“He really likes enchiladas,” she told Mexican reporters when she received her visa to visit the United States in June 2019, even thanking President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who had personally intervened for the visa of the imprisoned mobster’s mother.
