Tirana will host the Francophone Youth Parliament at the end of July. The good news was given by the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who participated in the proceedings of the Francophonie Parliamentary Assembly being held in Kigali, Rwanda.
“It is a special pleasure that Tirana will host the Francophone Youth Parliament at the end of July – a special occasion, especially when Tirana is the European Youth Capital. This decision was made in Kigali, a 24-hour visit, which was also exciting for me personally. I lived here 20 years ago and saw how every nation can change”, said Veliaj. The head of the Municipality of Tirana underlined that each of the nations, even those that have gone through the most difficult histories, can modernize and move forward. “Imagine what Tirana and our Albania can do! I am very enthusiastic that the young people, our young people in Tirana, will have an extraordinary opportunity to exchange experiences with francophone young people from dozens of countries around the world, and I am glad that in a few days, for a week, Tirana will to be the European capital of Francophonie as well, and I strongly believe that connections will be created that will last a lifetime”, emphasized Veliaj.
This annual meeting of the Parliamentary Francophonie brought together about 300 deputies and senators, to debate and adopt common positions on various issues.
