Kurti and Vucic will meet in Berlin that evening, in the presence of EU mediator for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, who is coming to Berlin at the invitation of Chancellor Scholz.
Earlier, Vucic said he was “afraid” before the trip to Berlin. Speaking during a visit to Greece, the Serbian president said he was “afraid” of talks with Scholz and did not expect them to be “easy”.
Scholz invited Vuçiiç and Kurti to separate talks, and Lajcak will join them, who is expected to hold a joint meeting with the two. If realized, this will be the first Kurti-Vucic meeting since July last year, when the parties met in Brussels, as part of the dialogue for the normalization of relations.
Clear signals have arrived from the German Government that Kosovo and Serbia need to make progress in the dialogue process. The two countries have been engaged in this dialogue since 2011 and have reached dozens of agreements, but many of them have never been implemented.
