In recent days, a big scandal has erupted with personal data, which includes a series of rumors beyond the fact that they have been circulating for months, but what caused a stir and discussion is the issue of salaries.
Prof.doc. Suzana Guxholli spoke on “Top Talk” about this issue, showing how the publication of salaries revealed a scandal of tax evasion.
Denis Dyrnjaja: What I want to get an opinion on is the issue of massive tax evasion. So some companies are honest, they have declared high salaries by keeping you taxes as the law provides, so by providing progressive taxation which is pretty fat for some high salaries and many people have dealt with people who are paid a lot but have declared a lot of tax. What stands out is a structural level of some formal wages.
Suzana Guxholli: Evasion and tax evasion of wages is a worldwide phenomenon, long known and associated with the behavior and approach of human nature to money. We have the extreme poverty that made this payroll and all the other phenomena that come with it. I wanted to say that this evasion and avoidance are known phenomena and for these there are laws, there are measures and institutions. We have laws of European standard, but our implementation is of Ottoman level.
The form of evasion is criminal and if you are caught not paying taxes, you will be punished. What is noticed is the avoidance and in a way it is accommodated by the law and by the gaps that the law has. For example, by not declaring the full salary but declaring it below the value of the real salary, the payment of a tax on this lower salary is avoided. At the same time, the company has smaller liabilities in the state. This brings an immediate profit to the company, but a medium-term poverty and beyond. Work should be done so that the taxation system is a system that does not burden either the companies or the individual.
