Former United States President Donald Trump has filed a federal lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee of America for defaming the “unthinkable conspiracy” that linked him to “Russian interference” in the 2016 presidential campaign.
The lawsuit, filed in Florida court, also accuses others in the Clinton campaign group of concealing facts and protecting the former secretary of state from the conspiracy.
The indictment states: “Before the 2016 presidential election, Hillary Clinton and her associates orchestrated the unthinkable conspiracy that has shocked consciences and is an insult to our nation.”
“In collaboration with each other, the defendants fabricated a false narrative, assuming that their Republican opponent, Donald J. Trump, was collaborating with an enemy foreign sovereign.”
“Further actions of their false scheme led to the abuse of law enforcement agencies and national sources of sensitive data, creating a situation of agitation and subversion that even the Watergate scandal would seem faint in comparison.”
Trump’s lawsuit alleges that the conspiracy was “conceived, coordinated and carried out by top Clinton campaign officials, including the candidate herself.”
Trump has often been accused by Democrats and Clinton’s campaign of conspiracy with Russia in the 2016 campaign, which was also the subject of a failed procedure to oust him as president.
In 2019, Councilor Robert Mueller published a lengthy report on the issue stating that Russia had not attempted to interfere in the election and that there was no evidence of Trump involvement in such actions.
