A Ukrainian MP has decided to join the army in defense of her country against the Russian occupation.
Kira Rudik, the chairwoman of the Zeri party in the Rada parliament, has expressed her conviction that she would shoot Russian soldiers if they went to her house and that no one can remove her from the country.
“I have no plans to leave. This is my city, this is my place and I plan to protect it for as long as necessary. There is no chance that some crazy Russian dictator can take me away from where I live and where I want“, Said the deputy for BBC Radio Scotland.
Rudik is one of the many volunteers who have accepted the offer to arm the military forces seeking to strengthen key positions.
“We got rifles in the Ukrainian parliament and for the last two days I was training to use them, so now I am very sure I would be able to shoot someone if he came to my house”She said.
The MP predicted that the occupation would last from 10 days to two weeks, due to high casualties, low morale and Russia’s unpreparedness for a protracted conflict.
