Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russian soldiers of leaving mines while retreating to areas in northern Ukraine.
Ukraine says its troops have regained control of more than 30 towns and villages in the Kiev region since Russia announced this week that it would reduce its operations around the capital to focus east.
“In the north of our country, the invaders are leaving. It is slow but noticeable. In some places they are being driven out by fighting. Elsewhere they are abandoning their positions. They are undermining all this territory. “Houses are mined, equipment is mined, even the bodies of the dead,” Zelendky said.
The Russian Defense Ministry has not yet responded to the allegations.
