The envoys of the United States of America and the European Union, together met the heads of institutions in Kosovo.
Gabriel Escobar and Miroslav Lajcak first met with the country’s president, Vjosa Osmani. This meeting ended in about 40 minutes and nothing was said after it.
Meanwhile, after the meeting with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Lajçak and Escobar without accepting questions stated that the main purpose of the visit was the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

Miroslav Lajçak – EU Envoy for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue: This visit is to convey a clear message that the EU and the US are working closely for the normalization of relations and dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia as well as for the well-being of the entire region.
Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated that Kosovo’s sovereignty is important for the government he leads and that the future of the country, according to him, is European.

Hours after meeting with US and EU envoys, the presidency said in a statement that President Osmani insisted that Serbia block the dialogue process.
Lajcak and Escobar will stay on visit until Wednesday. Leaders of opposition parties will also meet during this time.
