Shkëlzen Lamuça, the heroic firefighter who saved the lives of two little girls of the Nanaj family after the fire that broke out in a building in the Astiri area, has been honored with the Medal of Gratitude of the City of Tirana by the Mayor Erion Veliaj.
Zeni, as he likes to be called in the close circle of friends, thanks to his skills and the help of colleagues, was able to get the girls out of the endangered palace in time, an event that thankfully ended without any injured people.
At the reception organized by the Municipality of Tirana, Veliaj expressed his gratitude to the firefighter. “I am very honored to have a colleague. All of Tirana is proud of you! We are all part of a team, but even within the team there are those who risk more than others, who get tired more than others and who deserve all the gratitude of the rest of us. “I am very grateful to you and thank you very much!”, He said.
The mayor stressed that with the administration of such an important directorate for the city, as the Firefighters of Tirana, the municipality has invested in equipping them with tools to come to the aid not only of people in fire situations, but in any event where intervention is needed. specialized.
“As soon as the fire service passed into the administration of the municipality, we took this job very seriously because it is a job that is related to human life, the dignity of the city, the security of property. Most people think that firefighters are only there to put out fires, but they are there even when the elevator is blocked, when road accidents occur, they provide first aid in many situations when firefighters arrive ahead of other services. I am especially proud that, not only have we added equipment – we have ultra-modern tools today – but, I believe that the number one asset is neither firefighters, nor clothing, nor work tools: The number one asset is people. I greatly appreciate your work Zen, because with boys like you and the ladies who have been added to the service, we have done things that no tool can do. The vehicle can not decide if we will climb on the balcony of the 7th floor, risking, as you did for the two wonderful little girls, therefore with the blessing, gratitude, thanks and blessings of that family, come my wishes on behalf of the city. , underlined Veliaj.
The hero firefighter, who also received thanks from the father of the little girls, Beqo Nanaj, said that saving the lives of little girls was one of the greatest pleasures he has experienced throughout his career as a firefighter. “It was a pleasure, a great emotion, to save two children’s lives, two little angels. When I landed the two girls it was the greatest pleasure I have felt in these years, an indescribable emotion. I’m proud! Thanks to the girls too! I wish you health, success and luck everywhere, together with your family! ”, Affirmed Shkëlzen Lamuça.
The Director of the Tirana Fire Service, Shkëlqim Goxhaj said that immediately after the reporting of the serious incident and the arrival of the fire brigade, Shkëlzeni was the first to react with his escalator, evacuating the two little girls, and continuing with other evacuations. .
