The protest of Kosovo KLA veterans has ended, where its goal has not been achieved.
Although there was a protest, the approval of their inclusion in the law on raising the minimum wage was not achieved. Veterans currently receive a pension of 170.
Veterans of the Kosovo Liberation Army entered the yard of the Kosovo Assembly in the morning while they were protesting, but the police used tear gas in their direction to disperse the crowd.
The protest, supported by the Kosovo Liberation Army War Veterans Organization (OVL-KLA), was scheduled to take place in front of the Assembly, as a sign of dissatisfaction with their non-involvement in raising the minimum wage.
Veterans ‘pension is the same as the minimum wage in Kosovo, but in the draft law approved by the Government of Kosovo to increase this salary, the increase of veterans’ pension is not included.
It was approved by the Government of Kosovo in April this year. According to this draft law, the minimum wage will be increased to 264 euros gross, or 250 euros net.
