The Vlora-Orikum national axis has been blocked by landslides since 5 pm on Thursday.
Residents of the area but also travelers who were crossing this road found it impossible to continue the journey. Representatives of the local government and the Prefect of Vlora, Flamur Mamaj, went to the place where the landslide had occurred and made a balance of the situation until 18:00.
Meanwhile, the Vlora water supply and sewerage ditches had started work to clear the road. The head of Vlora Water Supply and Sewerage, Elona Hodja said when this axis could be opened. Traffic in this area became impossible due to the fact that the Vlora bypass was blocked where works were being carried out.
The diggers of the municipality worked all Thursday evening to clear the road, while the mayor of Vlora Dritan Leli made a balance of the situation until 22 o’clock.
