Ukraine’s president has told world finance ministers that his country needs $ 7 billion (5. 5.4 billion) every month until the summer to keep running.
Volodymyr Zelensky also said it would take hundreds of billions of dollars to rebuild all the demolition later.
Speaking at a conference of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank via video link from Kiev, he said that the global community must immediately exclude Russia from international financial institutions, including the World Bank, the IMF and others.
“All countries must be prepared immediately to sever all ties with Russia,” he said. “We believe that over time this amount will fall as the Ukrainian economy in parts of the country that are not under occupation grows, while remittances from those who now work elsewhere begin to flow.”
