British artist Ed Sherann has won the lawsuit, where he was accused of “stealing” the melody of the famous song “Shape of you”.
At the 11-day trial, Ed Sheeran, considered one of the most important musicians in the world over the past decade, denied allegations that he used plagiarism in his music.
Judge Anthony Zakaroli ruled that Ed Sheeran should not be convicted of plagiarism, although the song has “similarities” with the other two, but there are also significant differences.
Shape of You music star and co-creator John McDade of Snow Patrol and producer Steve McCatson have been accused of “stealing” parts of the 2015 song Oh Ëhy by songwriters Sami Chokri and Ross Donogiu.
