Tourists are flocking to Croatia for the new tourist season but the Adriatic country says it does not have enough tourism staff for its visitors.
Authorities say they are hiring people from Asia and the Balkans to fill the gaps.
The same problem seems to have other destinations in Europe such as France, Spain and Greece, which comes as a result of earlier closures of the virus.
But Croatia says it has suffered for years over staffing problems for its coastal destinations and about 1,000 tourist islands.
Officials say the tourism industry is missing around 10,000 employees this season.
Croatia is expected to significantly revive its tourism mass as it received about three million visitors in the first five months of the year.
This is about three times the number of last year and is a good signal for the peak of the season that starts is the period July and August.
In 2019 the country with 3.8 million inhabitants hosted a record 21 million visitors.
Croatia’s tourism revenue accounts for at least one-fifth of its economy.
