In Frankfurt, Prague, the Yamal-Europe pipeline, which normally supplies gas to Western Europe, is already turning it back to Poland for the sixth day in a row.
The announcement was made on Sunday by the German supply network operator, Gascade.
Measurements on Sunday show that the movement of gas in the pipeline, measured at the Mallnow point on the German-Polish border, was taking place eastwards, on Polish territory, at a volume of 1.2 million kilowatt hours. The data also show that the Russian gas export company, Gazprom, had not reserved on Monday the capacity for export transit through the Yamal-Europe pipeline.
The German company Gascade, which takes Russian gas and transports it inside Germany, is owned by WIGA, a joint venture between Gazprom and Wintershall DEA. The latter is jointly owned by the German chemical group BASF and the Russian LetterOne.
Russia said this week that the return of gas to pipelines was not a political move, although it coincides with rising tensions between Moscow and the West over Ukraine, and has pushed prices to record levels.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Germany was reselling Russian gas to Poland and Ukraine, rather than easing the market at exorbitant prices. He blamed German gas importers for the gas bounce and for stratospheric prices.
The German Economy Ministry has refused to comment on Mr Putin’s allegations. The gas importing companies did not respond to requests for comment made by the Reuters news agency.
Data from the Slovak pipeline operator Eustream show that the capacity of the Russian gas flow from Ukraine to Slovakia, through the Velke Kapusany border crossing point, was at 739,826 megawatts per hour, slightly below Saturday and much lower than the level of the weeks. last.
This decline is balanced by the increase in gas shipments from the Czech Republic to Slovakia, which means that the flow from Slovakia to the Austrian point Baumgarten, continues to be relatively stable, compared to the level of recent days and weeks./ VOA
