The largest international organizations of journalists have reacted to the violence against the film crew of the investigative show Fiks Fare.
On March 22, near the poultry breeding company Ovital in Sukth, two people threatened to kill journalist Antela Lika and broke the camera of operator Daniel Shkulaku.
The film crew was investigating the burial of dead chickens from bird flu near the premises of this company, in violation of the law.
Following the publication of the investigation, Safe Journalist, the Balkan Network of Journalists, condemned the violence against the film crew of Fiks Fare, while stating that the person who threatened them, the owner of the company, is suspected of being a member of a criminal organization.
Meanwhile, Reporters Without Borders has condemned the refusal of the police to intervene, despite the fact that the journalist had informed them.
The Global Coalition for Women in Journalism also reacted to the violence and intimidation, strongly condemning the inaction of the police, despite the fact that the film crew also told the perpetrator of the violence.
But in Albania, the only authority that has reacted is that of the Audiovisual Media. The AMA called the threatening journalists in office “a dangerous act for freedom of speech and democracy.”
