Cough and cold are usually health problems attributed to the winter season, but in many cases, dry cough persists even in spring or summer. Dry cough is about a sore throat, the causes of which are different. These include: pollen allergies, air conditioning, heartburn or spring viruses caused by enterovirus.
Unlike the rhinovirus that causes colds in winter, this virus lives longer in summer. Moreover, throat irritations last longer in warm temperatures due to dry air and the use of air conditioning. Natural syrups against dry cough are varied and mainly based on honey. The latter can be combined very well with violet flowers, the most beautiful herald of spring.
Uses of Violet Flowers For Health
The experts to whom it refers say that the violet flower has been widely used against some diseases, disorders and health problems. These include: acne, asthma, bronchitis, eczema, headaches, psoriasis, sore throats, ulcers, urinary tract infections and dry cough.
Violet Flower Syrup And Honey
This syrup is very soft and delicate. It is also recommended for children over 2 years old. To prepare the syrup you need some fresh or dried flower petals, water and honey. The formula is as follows: for each tablespoon of flower petals you need two tablespoons of honey. Take a glass jar and fill one third of it with flower petals.
Then pour cold water over them and put the jar in the fridge. Keep overnight and then in the morning toss in a small saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes. Then drain the liquid. If you are going to use 50 ml of violet petal juice, you will use 100 ml or 150 ml of honey depending on your preference. Put the pot back on low heat and mix the honey until it melts.
Do not allow it to simmer and keep the temperature over low heat so that the honey values are not destroyed. Pour the thick liquid into a glass jar and keep in the refrigerator for a month. For children 1-2 teaspoons per day are recommended while for adults 1-5 tablespoons per day. This syrup plays a dual role in clearing the airways and eliminating dry cough./ AgroWeb
