Idaho Senator Jim Risch, a senior member of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said today that he wants and hopes that Congress will pass bipartisan legislation to impose additional sanctions on Russia.
“From my point of view, I would like to see secondary sanctions for every bank in Russia. I think with what is happening there, we really can not be too harsh on sanctions. “We just have to drop the hammer.” -tha Risch.
“I understand that every administration wants to have full control. Of course, I think Congress plays a role in that. We fought with him. We made an attempt in good faith, but it came very close, yet it did not succeed completely. “The sanctions have really surprised us in terms of how effective they have been, and I would encourage them to continue on that path.”htoi ai.
