Every year, the Shushica River is causing considerable damage by eroding land wherever it passes from the village of Kuç where it originates, to the villages of Llakatund and Armen.
Residents of these villages have raised concerns as every year this river is occupying hectares of agricultural land. The agronomist of the former cooperative of the village Mendim Baçaj shows that before the ’90s panels were made along this river, creating protection of the lands, while today no measures have been taken.
“Urgent measures must be taken as tens of hectares of arable land are being eroded by the river and eventually lost,” says the agronomist.
Every winter and every time it rains the residents know that next spring will find them with less land to plant.
