Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha convenes today the National Assembly of the Democratic Party, a day which according to him will mark the re-establishment of the DP.
The meeting of the Democrats will take place at the stadium “Air Albania” in Tirana, where a podium will be set up, in which the historical leader of the Democratic Party and its former founder or delegates will speak one after the other.
Delegates will have their own separate area, but the rest of the stadium will be open to all Democratic Party members and supporters who want to join the Assembly’s work.
The assembly will start at 10:00, while at the beginning the verification of the mandates of the delegates will take place, who will then have to vote at several polling stations set up around the stadium for the proposals of the former DP leader.
The verification of the delegates will be done electronically, through a card with which they have been provided in advance, by groups of young people.
On the card are written their data, such as name, fatherhood, surname, political position in the party, the branch where they belong and a security code that will enable the Verification Commission of the mandates that will be set up tomorrow in the assembly for their verification.
Several statutory changes will be proposed in the Assembly, for which a group of experts who joined Sali Berisha, such as Arben Ristani and Oerd Bylykbashi, has worked.
The two most important are the adoption of Article “Basha” which stipulates that the mayor is automatically dismissed if he loses the general election or passes the vote of confidence if he loses the local elections, and the involvement of the membership in decision-making through a referendum.
If there is a quorum, a no-confidence motion will be voted on to dismiss Basha, that is, to dismiss him.
