Dominic Taddeo, the 1980s assassin convicted in 1992, escaped yesterday after being transferred to a medium-sized security facility.
Taddeo, 64, was sentenced to 54 years in prison for at least three murders in New York, USA.
He was recently transferred to Coleman, Florida, as he was expected to be released after a year.
The data show that the 64-year-old former killer had gone to a meeting with permission on March 28, from which he never returned, although he was close to release, the daily writes. Democrat & Chronicle.
This is reportedly the second time he has escaped authorities after escaping on parole in 1987 when he remained on the run for two years.
But Taddeo reportedly had clear records and had continued his education in prison, while in 2021 he had unsuccessfully applied for release with age and health arguments.
The former mafia executor was caught for the murders of three people and two failed attempts. Charges against him include the murders of Nicholas Mastrodonato, Gerald Pelusio, and Dino Tortatice between 1982 and 1983.
He had also twice attempted to assassinate mafia gang leader Thomas Marotta.
Marotta had been shot six times in the first attempt and three times in the second attempt, but had survived.
