The US State Department has approved today a sale of military ammunition from various countries in Ukraine with a value of 165 million dollars, which will be ‘covered’ by the US.
The news was announced by the Defense Security Cooperation Agency as it was conveyed to the Ukrainians during the trip of Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin over the weekend.
“The proposed sale will improve Ukraine’s ability to meet current and future threats while maintaining the operational readiness of its forces,” the State Department said in a statement.
The announced sale is just one of several ways in which the United States is offering military assistance to Ukraine. On Thursday, US President Joe Biden authorized another $ 800 million in military aid to support Ukraine using presidential withdrawal funds.
