US State Department spokesman Ned Price announced today that the Deputy Chief of Mission for the US Embassy in Ukraine and members of the embassy team traveled to Lviv today.
Speaking at a State Department conference, Price said the embassy team met with interlocutors from the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Today’s trip was a step forward for more regular travel in the near future.” he said, noting that for now it was temporary.
“We are accelerating preparations to resume embassy operations in Kiev as soon as possible.” continued Price.
He said the State Department is constantly assessing and reassessing the security situation with a view to resuming those embassy operations as soon as possible again to facilitate our support for the government and people of Ukraine as they courageously defend the country of tire.
