Former United States President Donald Trump has appealed to the Supreme Court today to stop the publication of White House files, requested by a House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
Two weeks ago, the Columbia District Court ruled that there was no legal basis to challenge President Joe Biden’s decision to allow the submission of documents. The execution of this decision is postponed until the Supreme Court decides on this issue.
Biden believed that the files, which belong to the executive branch of government, were not subject to the rule of secrecy of some White House internal documents and their submission to Congress was in the interest of the nation.
