Who are the 20 arrested in the Port of Durrës/ Several crates were missing from the container of bananas, drug suspicions

According to information, 16 of the 20 arrested are employees of the port security force. The opening of the container was done before passing through the police filter and the scanner.

After this container was opened, it was noticed that its surface was loaded with crates of bananas, and that 49 crates were missing.

The container was stacked on top of another container when it was found open.

Security employees have denied involvement in this case. They claim that the container arrived open as it is impossible for it to be opened and unloaded without being noticed by them or by the security cameras.

The police suspect that it happened at night, that’s why they arrested the night shift workers. The “Blues” suspect that there may have been narcotics inside the container.

Those arrested for the criminal offenses “Abuse of duty” and “Breaking, removing, replacing security signs of customs authorities” committed in cooperation are:

– Nazmi Allgjata, 46 years old, resident of Durrës, driver in the company that was waiting for the shipment of bananas.

“The Investigative Structures of the Local Police Directorate of Durrës in cooperation with those of the Department of Criminal Police in the State Police, under the direction of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Judicial District of Durrës, are continuing the work to clarify and fully document this event and bring the legal responsibility of other persons involved in this event. The first investigative materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office, for further procedural actions”according to police.
