The European Union confirms that on Tuesday, June 21 in Brussels there will be meetings in the framework of the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia in which the energy agreement will be on the agenda and preparations for a high-level meeting between the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic have not been held for a year.
EU special envoy Miroslav Lajcak will host another round of talks as part of the dialogue at the level of chief negotiators, announced Peter Stano, the EU’s foreign policy and security spokesman.
The EU expects that at this meeting at the level of chief negotiators there will be a concrete consensus on the implementation of the energy agreement and possibly the signing of a statement on the issue of missing persons.
As for the energy agreement, diplomats according to REL, say that it is the same agreement that was reached in 2013, confirmed in 2015, and now the parties will only agree on its implementation plan. The EU is expected to play the role of facilitator for the implementation of this agreement.
As for the possibility of a high-level meeting between the Prime Minister of Kosovo and the President of Serbia, EU sources say that this will depend on the readiness of the parties to achieve concrete results in the dialogue.
If there is a result in the meeting at the level of the chief negotiators on Tuesday, then the possibilities for a meeting at the high level will be better.
